Where everyone sleeps

Six places to sleep, honestly explained

So there are no surprises, here it is in detail: four people sleep in two bedrooms, each with a double bed. Places five and six are the large sofa bed in the living room – it folds right out and we make it up with fresh linen for you, plus its own set of towels.

  • Bedroom 1 – double bed
  • Bedroom 2 – double bed
  • Living room – large sofa bed for two people

There is a fan in both bedrooms, and every room has its own TV. From the third guest onwards we add €9 per person per night. Bed linen and towels are included for everyone.

What's inside

Amenities

Kitchen

Oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. Pots, pans and a knife block are there – crockery and cutlery for twelve people, plus mugs, egg cups and cereal bowls.

Laundry & bathroom

Bed linen is ready for everyone, plus one large bath towel and one small hand towel per person – for stays of four nights or longer, twice that. There's a hairdryer, and the washing machine and dryer are in the utility room.

Working & watching TV

Fast Wi-Fi throughout the apartment and a desk by the window. Three TVs: one in the living room, one in each of the two bedrooms.

Terrace

40 m² with a privacy screen: table with six chairs, two parasols and a barbecue. Everything you need to eat outside.

Parking & charging

Your own parking space at the house comes with the apartment, included in the price. A second car? Five minutes' walk away, opposite the Netto, there is a free car park with no time limit. And if it ever gets tight, just get in touch – we'll sort something out.

Electric car? The AggerEnergie charging station is around 100 metres away, at the bus station opposite.

There is also a vending machine with drinks and snacks right outside the door – handy if you arrive late and the supermarket has closed.

Where exactly

Right in the middle of Bielstein

Bahnhofsplatz 2a, right in the village centre. What you can reach on foot and what you can reach by car:

On foot

Bakery, supermarket, pharmacy, snack bar and the bus station – which is directly opposite, with connections to Wiehl and Gummersbach.

Wiehl town centre

Around 5 minutes by car. That's where our second apartment is, too.

Cologne

About 45 minutes via the A4; the slip road is 10 minutes away.

Day trips

Wiehl stalactite cave, Wiehltalsperre, monkey and bird park, Panoramasteig.

Right outside the door

The Bierweg starts at Bahnhofsplatz

The Bierweg – officially Bergischer Streifzug #17 – is a circular route of 13.4 kilometres, around four hours, 316 metres of ascent. Start and finish are at Bahnhofsplatz, a few steps from the apartment door. It is waymarked with a white 17 on a red background.

Seven information boards

About barley, hops, water and the question of why Kölsch is brewed in the middle of the Bergisches Land. Part of the route runs along the Bergischer Panoramasteig.

Seven hop caves

Cooled earth cellars along the way. You book one online beforehand, and on the day of your walk it's waiting for you, filled with drinks. You open it with a door code.

Brewery next door

The Erzquell brewery is around 190 metres away on Bielsteiner Straße. Tours are available if you register in advance.

Two days' lead time

The hop caves have to be booked at least two days in advance – so it's worth planning that in as soon as you settle on your dates.

The hop caves are booked through bergischer-bierweg.de. If 13 kilometres sounds like too much, there's a shorter loop too.
